William Sibthorp

William Sibthorp (otherwise Grubb), found guilty of a burglary in the dwelling house of Stephen Laycock in the parish of All Saints, Hertford, on 27^th December 1740: stealing therefrom 5 silver teaspoons (valued at 5/-), silver tea tongs (valued at 2/6), a silver strainer (valued at 2/-), a large silver spoon (valued at 8/-), a silver punch ladle (valued at 10/-), 2 pairs of brass scales (valued at 18d), a pair of boots (valued at 14/-), a pair of shoes (valued at 1/-), a blue cloth coat (valued at 5/-), 3 pounds of Bohea Tea (valued at 20/-), 2 pounds of Green Tea (valued at 18/-), 3 tin canisters (valued at 18d), ½ pound of nutmeg (valued at 3/-), ½ pound of Stone Blue (valued at 8d) and 12 pounds of loaf sugar (valued at 8/6).  No reprieve traced,
